Date : Nov 10, 2015

Dive Site: Whytecliff Park

Visibility:  over 30 feet

Description: Nice calm day at Whytecliff Park. A surprisingly heavy current swinging into the bay causing a murky dive down the left side. A complete contrast down the right with fish tank like conditions, mild current and huge schools of Perch often broken up by Lingcod and Kelp Greenling.

Date : May  6, 2015
Dive Site: Porteau Cove
Visibility:  Not the best
Description: As we had to stay above 12m today, there was no breaking through the fuzzy layer of brown. On the plus side, the algae wasn’t so dense that we were diving in the dark. No lights were needed to spot the Porteau carpet of crabs, shrimp and starfish.

CAMPBELL RIVER VISIBILITY REPORTDate : May 1-3, 2015
Dive Site: Row and be damned, Diane’s delight, Middle of the road, HMCS Columbia and Copper Cliff
Visibility: 25-30 feet
Description: We were diving Campbell River this weekend May 1st-3rd. Dive sites included Row and be damned, Diane’s delight, Middle of the road, HMCS Columbia and Copper Cliff. Shore dive in Nanaimo at Madrona Point Wall. Beautiful walls full of strawberry anemones, sculpins of all kind, Puget sound king crab, giant pacific octopus, wolf eel, mossheaded warbonnet and many more. Viz was not terrible but with the tide being super low we have seen better days. The currents were running strong which made it a fun ride. Coming up close to all the colorful life we weren’t bothered by the viz at all. I would guess goo 25-30 feet in 10 degrees water. The weather was beautiful sunny which made up for it! Fantastic trip and a blast as always!

Date : April 30, 2015

Dive Site: Porteau Cove

Visibility: mixed.

Description: Descending through the top layer suggested it was going to be a pretty dark, fuzzy dive. However after breaking past the 8m mark it opened up into the the clearest diving i have seen all year. Who knew one wreck lead to the next? Great dives!
