The abundance and diversity of marine life in the Pacific Northwest has made it one of the greatest places to dive in the world. Our nutrient-rich emerald waters are home to some of the most unique marine life, and identification can be a tricky process.
Our Pacific Northwest Fish Identification course will give you an in-depth look at fish and invertebrates in our local waters. You’ll learn how to conduct fish surveys, and how to identify characteristics of common fish families and invertebrate groups.
This course is open to everyone, even non-divers!
All participants will get a copy of the course material emailed to them to work through ahead of time, and then you’ll join Shannon and Megan for a fun and informative evening going through knowledge reviews and learning a bit more about our local Marine Life and surveys / conservation efforts to keep our marine life safe!
We’ll send you the link you’ll need to join the review session, you’ll just need to download “Zoom” and click the emailed link a few minutes before your scheduled class.
Add on an optional Fish ID Book or Field Guide- We’ll send it in the mail or you can stop by the shop and grab it before your course!
*This class doesn’t result in a certification but you will have the option to add on a diving component to give you the PADI Fish Identification Specialty. The dives will be offered once we are up and running again!
