DIVE TRIP FAQ

Most Frequently Asked Questions and Answers

If you don’t own your own gear, you will need to rent for your dives. We offer different rental packages, or you can rent by the piece if you only need a few items.

You will require:

  • Drysuit or 7mm 2-pc. Wetsuit (May-September)
  • BCD
  • Regulator (w/ drysuit hose if using a drysuit)
  • 5mm Boots (or thicker)
  • 5mm Gloves (or thicker)
  • 5mm Hood (or thicker)
  • Tanks and Weights are included on all of our trips

Strongly recommend:

  • Dive Light (depending on the time of year, our water can sometimes be quite dark)
  • Dive Computer

Drysuit is definitely the preferred way to dive here in BC, however a wetsuit can be comfortably used between the months of May – September. If you are interested in learning to dive in a drysuit, check out our PADI Drysuit Specialty!

We have some of the worlds most beautiful diving, and it’s right on our back door step! Our water temperature ranges from 4°C – 9°C. In the summer months it is very comfortable to dive in a wetsuit (7mm John/Jacket), and during winter most people make the transition over to a dry suit. We dive all year round, and the visibility can vary quite a bit depending on the time of year. During the summer months we usually experience run off and plankton/algae blooms which can affect the visibility, so typically the fall-winter months are the best time to dive.

We have some of the most diverse marine life that you will ever see! We have a very large amount of invertebrates such as sea stars, sea cucumbers, nudibranchs, and more! We also have a huge variety of fish ranging from tiny Gobies, to Rockfish, to 5 ft Lingcod! Our most popular underwater friends are our world-renowned Giant Pacific Octopus. If you’re lucky, you may also catch a glimpse of a Wolf Eel, or get buzzed by a Seal or Sea Lion!
