The Vancouver Diving Locker’s Kids Scuba Camp is designed to introduce scuba diving to kids ages 10-15, in a safe and fun atmosphere.
Participants will find themselves navigating through hoola hoops, playing underwater frisbee, and watching diving movies!
Many of our kids camp participants even move on to complete their Junior Open Water Certification!

Diving Experience
Participants must be between ages 10-15 by the start date of the camp. No experience necessary but all participants must have basic swimming skills and be comfortable in the water
Mask and Snorkel
All participants must purchase or provide their own mask & snorkel (rentals not available).
Scuba Gear
All Scuba Equipment is included
Transportation Included
Transportation will be provided to/from the pool and shop.

The Kids Scuba Camp runs Monday – Friday, 9am – 3pm
Prerequisites
- Minimum Age: 10 - 15 years
- Complete a PADI Medical Questionnaire and obtain physician clearance if necessary
- Must be able to swim 200m, and float/tread water for 10 minutes unassisted.

After the Camp - Junior Open Water Certification
Each camp, we have several participants that do exceptionally well, and are ready to complete their ocean dives!
Safety is our priority! So it's important to note, that not all kids will be ready to move on to the ocean. The instructor evaluates the readiness of each participant based on a combination of mastery of skills underwater, understanding of safety procedures, ability to follow instructions, decision making skills, and maturity level.
Students that aren't quite ready, are encouraged to either come back for another camp next year, or come back to the pool and work on some skills with an instructor. In some instances it is a case of not being emotionally mature enough, so the instructor may recommend waiting until they are a bit older.
Junior Open Water Certification
What is a Junior Open Water Certification? This is a PADI certification that will allow them to dive anywhere in the world! Kids ages 10-11 will be limited to 40 ft and need to dive with an instructor or divemaster, Kids ages 12-14 are limited to 60 ft and will need to dive with an adult. Once the kids turn 15, their certification is automatically upgraded to a full Open Water Certification.
The cost to complete their certification is $349.95 and would include an additional 2 days of diving (4 ocean dives). We run these on a semi-private basis, with no more than 2 students per instructor. We have some set dates available the following week of the camp, otherwise they can be completed anytime within one year of completing the camp.
Alternatively if they do successfully complete the camp, we can provide referral paperwork for them to complete their dives in the tropics through any PADI Dive Center (within 1 year of completing their camp).
All divers must be able to complete the PADI Medical and obtain physicians clearance if required, prior to completing any in-water training

Shipping and Return Policy
Shipping Charges for Online Orders
We offer Free Shipping on orders over $200.
Some items are not eligible for free shipping: Used Gear, Sharkskin, Oversize and overweight items (ex. paddleboards, large gear bags, tanks and weights).
For orders not eligible for Free Shipping, please use the "Calculate Shipping" option at checkout after entering your address.
If your order is eligible for Free Shipping and you'd like to have it shipped priority, please add into your order notes and our staff will reach out regarding any additional costs before shipping out your order.
How Will My Order be shipped?
We utilize a variety of courier options including Purolator, Canpar, UPS, ICS and Canada Post. We compare the different companies and choose the most economical option with the quickest time frame. If you have a preference for shipping options, please add it to the comments section at checkout.
Canada Post Strike: Due to the Canada Post strike, we will be using other alternatives when at all possible. If you live in a rural area or have a PO box address, please provide an alternate address is possible. Due to the higher shipping costs of shipping to the Maritimes and Territories there may be additional fees (we will reach out to you if this is the case).
Backordered Items
Does your item appear as backordered? Often this just means we do not have the item in stock at the moment but our supplier does. We place orders weekly from our major brands so often we will see your item within 1-3 weeks. If you need something in a hurry, please contact us before placing your order so we can give you an accurate eta.Â
After placing your order, one of our staff will reach out and let you know when you can expect to receive your order.
How Long Will Delivery Take?
Orders are shipped within 1-2 days of placing your order. If an item is backordered or out of stock, one of our staff will be in touch.
Please note that the estimates below are "Business Days" (Monday-Friday). Please allow 1-2 days for processing/packing your order, especially during the holiday season! Orders placed after 2pm, will ship out the following day. If your order is placed after 2pm on Friday, it will not ship out until Monday.
Delivery time ranges from 2-10 days depending on location. If you need your order by a certain date, please be sure to add it in the order notes at checkout or contact us directly. We do everything in our power to ensure orders are delivered on time, but due to some circumstances out of our control with shipping companies, we cannot make any guarantees.
Where Can I View My Sales Receipt and Tracking Information?
Your invoice will be automatically sent to your email, please be sure to check your junk mail if you can't find it. If you created an account at checkout, you can click here to view your order history and receipts there as well.
Once your order has shipped, you will receive an email with tracking information.
What if I am Not Home when My Package is Delivered?
Due to the higher value of our products, all of our orders are shipped requiring a signature. This ensures that your order will not be left at your doorstep unattended if you are not home. If you need your order shipped without a signature, please put your request in the order notes. Please note that we cannot be responsible for lost or stolen packages if you choose not to have a signature.
Holiday Return Policy
Want to exchange or return an item? Orders placed between December 3rd – December 24th will have until January 7th to complete a return (or 14 days, whichever is longer). We will not be processing returns December 26th – 31st.
To be eligible for a return, all items must be unused and in new condition. Items must also be in their original, unaltered packaging, and include all packing materials, warranty cards, manuals and accessories. We can only refund or exchange products that have not been in contact with water or lubricant.
Returns that fail to meet the above requirements may be refused, or charged a restocking fee at the Diving Locker’s discretion.
Refunds: Refunds will be made with the original payment method. If your original order included Free Shipping and your return causes your order to fall below the Free Shipping minimum, a shipping charge will be deducted from your refund.
Exchanges: If you are exchanging an item and your original order included free shipping, we will cover the shipping of the new item to you (one time only).

**Freediving Wetsuits - Due to the sensitive nature of open cell neoprene, returned Freediving Wetsuits will be inspected thoroughly for any fingernail tears or holes, a restocking fee may apply for small damages, larger damages may result in a refusal of return.

EFR Instructor
CPR and first aid are key skills that are important to everyone, not just scuba divers. As an Emergency First Response Instructor, you teach skills based on internationally recognized emergency care guidelines, and you can offer courses to anyone. The great thing about EFR courses is they make learning easy by providing a comfortable environment to practice emergency care skills. Your students finish the course feeling confident with their new skills and ready to help someone in need.
The only requirements are that you're at least 18 years old and have Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) training within the past 24 months. An EFR Instructor rating is required to become a PADI Instructor, but you don't have to wait until you're ready to go pro. You can complete or refresh this training during your PADI Instructor training.
