BUILDING YOUR BARE DRYSUIT

CHOOSE YOUR SEALS:

There are three different types of seals: Latex,  Silicone and Neoprene Seals—and the one you pick should largely be based on personal preference.

Latex seals are the most common and are quite similar to silicone. You can cut them to size, but both they also are prone to tearing and deterioration over time. Latex seals cause reactions in certain divers, so check that before committing to a purchase. FYI: Latex can melt when exposed to ozone, or UV, so be sure to protect your latex seals from long-term sun exposure.

Neoprene Seals are built into the suit, and are typically a little more bulky. They do however provide better warmth, and are more durable (last longer). Neoprene seals are cut to size so it’s important your measurements are accurate when ordering your suit.

Silicone seals are typically the most comfortable and are able to be cut to your desired size. If you cut a seal, just be careful and sure before you make a cut. Silicone works better in hot environments, but snaps in cold. Silicone seals are more susceptible to rips and tears, especially when putting on/taking off your suit. We don’t recommend silicone unless you opt for the Quick Neck option (more info on that later)

CUFF RINGS

This is one upgrade that you absolutely should consider when purchasing your drysuit. Cuff rings have to major benefits:

  • Dry Gloves- They act as an attachment point for a variety of different style of Dry Gloves, whether you want use a Marigold Glove or a Heavier Duty Dry Glove System
  • User Replaceable Wrist Seals- Having Cuff Rings installed on your suit will allow you to replace your latex or silicone wrist seal in a matter of seconds. Never miss a dive again because of a torn wrist seal!

QUICK NECK SYSTEM

The Quick Neck System works very similarly to the Cuff Ring System, and will allow you to replace your Latex or Silicone Neck Seal yourself. You do sacrifice a bit of comfort though, especially if you have narrow shoulders, as although the ring is flexible, the shoulder straps of your BCD can sometimes press against it.

If you absolutely can’t afford to have any downtime or sudden neck seal blowouts, it is a worthwhile investment and will give you a huge piece of mind!

*The Quick Neck System is not compatible with all styles and sizes of drysuits

CHOOSE YOUR BOOT STYLE

Each Bare Drysuit will come standard with a particular boot style, but you have the option to change to a different style at no additional charge (with the exception of the Tech boot)

SOFT SOCKS

The soft socks are a 4mm compression resistant neoprene and can be worn with a variety of over boots such as the BARE FORCE 1 boot

HD BOOTS

The Bare HD Boots are the toughest and most durable boot option. They are made of 4mm compression resistant neoprene. They have a heavy duty reinforced toe, upper and heel

TECH BOOTS

The Bare Tech Boots are a premium low-profile boot made of 3mm compression resistant neoprene. They have a streamlined sole and upper ankle velcro strap

Add a Pocket

Pockets are great places to store spare masks, lights, slates, and any other underwater treasures you find! You can choose to have a pocket on either one or both legs.
