The PADI Divemaster course is your first level of professional training. Working closely with one of our Diving Locker Pro's, you’ll fine-tune your dive skills, refine your rescue skills so you anticipate and easily solve common problems. You’ll gain dive knowledge, management and supervision abilities so you become a role model to divers everywhere.
Many of our Divemaster students go on to work with us and become part of our team. You’ll help lead safari's, independently run refresher courses, and assist on courses. Whether you want to work at a faraway dive destination or here at the Diving Locker, the adventure of a lifetime awaits you!Â

Diving Experience
All divers must be at least PADI Rescue, be 18 years old, and have at least 40 logged dives
Transportation
Don't have a vehicle? No problem! We have three passenger vans available that will get you everywhere you need to go!
Scuba Gear
Divers are encouraged to have purchase their own Scuba Equipment, however rental packages are available.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
The PADI Divemaster course teaches you to be a leader and take charge of dive activities. Through knowledge development sessions, waterskills exercises and workshops, and hands-on practical assessment, you develop the skills to organize and direct a variety of scuba diving activities. Topics and practical workshops include:
- The role and characteristics of the PADI Divemaster
- Supervising dive activities and assisting with student divers
- Diver safety and risk management
- Divemaster conducted programs and specialized skills
- Business of diving and your career
- Awareness of the dive environment
- Dive setup and management
- Mapping an open water site
- Conducting dive briefings
- Organizing a search and recovery project and a deep dive
- Conducting a scuba review and skin diver course
- Assisting with Discover Scuba Diving and leading Discover Local Diving programs

COURSE DETAILS
The PADI Divemaster Course is a self-paced course that consists of E-Learning, Assisting, and Skills Development. Most students take 2-4 months to complete the course, but it completely depends on how much time you are able to dedicate to the course.
Prerequisites
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- PADI Rescue Certification
- Complete a PADI Medical Questionnaire - divers will be required to have a physician signature prior to submitting their application to PADI after the course

Additional Costs
- PADI Divemaster Certification Fee (to be paid directly to PADI upon completion of the course- roughly $133 + tax)
- Gear Rental - Students need to provide their own personal gear (mask, snorkel, fins, boots and gloves). It is highly recommended students pursing their Divemaster invest in their own gear, but we do offer a Divemaster 3 month drysuit rental package for $350.
- Liability Insurance - If after the course, you would like to work as a Divemaster, you will need to purchase professional liability insurance. Please contact us for more details.
All Divemasters are required to complete a PADI Medical Questionnaire signed by a physician signature prior to submitting their Divemaster Application to PADI

Shipping and Return Policy
Shipping Charges for Online Orders
We offer Free Shipping on orders over $200.
Some items are not eligible for free shipping: Used Gear, Sharkskin, Oversize and overweight items (ex. paddleboards, large gear bags, tanks and weights).
For orders not eligible for Free Shipping, please use the "Calculate Shipping" option at checkout after entering your address.
If your order is eligible for Free Shipping and you'd like to have it shipped priority, please add into your order notes and our staff will reach out regarding any additional costs before shipping out your order.
How Will My Order be shipped?
We utilize a variety of courier options including Purolator, Canpar, UPS, ICS and Canada Post. We compare the different companies and choose the most economical option with the quickest time frame. If you have a preference for shipping options, please add it to the comments section at checkout.
Canada Post Strike: Due to the Canada Post strike, we will be using other alternatives when at all possible. If you live in a rural area or have a PO box address, please provide an alternate address is possible. Due to the higher shipping costs of shipping to the Maritimes and Territories there may be additional fees (we will reach out to you if this is the case).
Backordered Items
Does your item appear as backordered? Often this just means we do not have the item in stock at the moment but our supplier does. We place orders weekly from our major brands so often we will see your item within 1-3 weeks. If you need something in a hurry, please contact us before placing your order so we can give you an accurate eta.Â
After placing your order, one of our staff will reach out and let you know when you can expect to receive your order.
How Long Will Delivery Take?
Orders are shipped within 1-2 days of placing your order. If an item is backordered or out of stock, one of our staff will be in touch.
Please note that the estimates below are "Business Days" (Monday-Friday). Please allow 1-2 days for processing/packing your order, especially during the holiday season! Orders placed after 2pm, will ship out the following day. If your order is placed after 2pm on Friday, it will not ship out until Monday.
Delivery time ranges from 2-10 days depending on location. If you need your order by a certain date, please be sure to add it in the order notes at checkout or contact us directly. We do everything in our power to ensure orders are delivered on time, but due to some circumstances out of our control with shipping companies, we cannot make any guarantees.
Where Can I View My Sales Receipt and Tracking Information?
Your invoice will be automatically sent to your email, please be sure to check your junk mail if you can't find it. If you created an account at checkout, you can click here to view your order history and receipts there as well.
Once your order has shipped, you will receive an email with tracking information.
What if I am Not Home when My Package is Delivered?
Due to the higher value of our products, all of our orders are shipped requiring a signature. This ensures that your order will not be left at your doorstep unattended if you are not home. If you need your order shipped without a signature, please put your request in the order notes. Please note that we cannot be responsible for lost or stolen packages if you choose not to have a signature.
Holiday Return Policy
Want to exchange or return an item? Orders placed between December 3rd – December 24th will have until January 7th to complete a return (or 14 days, whichever is longer). We will not be processing returns December 26th – 31st.
To be eligible for a return, all items must be unused and in new condition. Items must also be in their original, unaltered packaging, and include all packing materials, warranty cards, manuals and accessories. We can only refund or exchange products that have not been in contact with water or lubricant.
Returns that fail to meet the above requirements may be refused, or charged a restocking fee at the Diving Locker’s discretion.
Refunds: Refunds will be made with the original payment method. If your original order included Free Shipping and your return causes your order to fall below the Free Shipping minimum, a shipping charge will be deducted from your refund.
Exchanges: If you are exchanging an item and your original order included free shipping, we will cover the shipping of the new item to you (one time only).

**Freediving Wetsuits - Due to the sensitive nature of open cell neoprene, returned Freediving Wetsuits will be inspected thoroughly for any fingernail tears or holes, a restocking fee may apply for small damages, larger damages may result in a refusal of return.

EFR Instructor
CPR and first aid are key skills that are important to everyone, not just scuba divers. As an Emergency First Response Instructor, you teach skills based on internationally recognized emergency care guidelines, and you can offer courses to anyone. The great thing about EFR courses is they make learning easy by providing a comfortable environment to practice emergency care skills. Your students finish the course feeling confident with their new skills and ready to help someone in need.
The only requirements are that you're at least 18 years old and have Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) training within the past 24 months. An EFR Instructor rating is required to become a PADI Instructor, but you don't have to wait until you're ready to go pro. You can complete or refresh this training during your PADI Instructor training.
