Nanaimo Wrecks

July 31st – August 1st

Join us for a weekend diving getaway, as we check out some of the amazing wrecks that Nanaimo has to offer!

We’ll be diving with Shepherd Dive Charters to explore the HMCS Saskatchewan, Cape Breton and the Rivtow. This trip is geared more towards Advanced divers who have interest in penetrating the wrecks. To maximize our bottom time, Nitrox is included for the trip, all divers must have their Nitrox certification.

Meals are not included in this trip, but there are lots of restaurant options to choose from nearby.

HMCS Saskatchewan

The 366 ft. HMCS Saskatchewan was scuttled in 1997 as the first artificial reef in the Nanaimo area. She sits in 130 ft. of water with her main deck at 80-90 ft. and is home to a variety of sealife including giant plumose anemonies, lingcod, cabezon, wolfeels, cloud sponges, along with a myriad of smaller marine life.

HMCS Cape Breton

The Cape Breton is a World War II Victory Ship, and is one of the largest naval vessels ever
purposely sunk to make an artificial reef / scuba diving attraction.

She is 134m/400ft in length and rests upright in about 140ft/42m of water, with the main deck around 70ft (21m).

Rivtow Lion

The Rivtow is a 147 foot rescue tug, built in England in 1940. It was sunk in 2005 in about 80 feet of water. The deck is at 50 feet, which makes it a good size reef for beginner wreck divers.
